We patchworkers don’t iron, we press. And preferably in such a way that we achieve very flat seams and blocks. If you want to achieve optimal ironing results, you should pay attention to these things:
1. iron on a felt pad made of 100% virgin wool, because the density of the virgin wool reflects the heat so that heat is also transferred to the fabric from below.
2. it is better to iron dry, i.e. without steam, because this can warp or shrink your blocks – and the felt underlay does not like moisture anyway and works best without steam.
