You are fascinated by the wonderful quilts that you have seen on the Internet, social media or exhibitions? You are confident with your sewing machine, but have not yet dared to try patchwork? Then you’ve come to the right place! In 5 sessions you will learn the basic techniques, tips and tricks of patchwork using a sampler quilt as an example. We will start with simple squares and triangles, discuss seam allowances, grain path, working tools, supplies, quick cutting techniques, corners and points. We will also talk about ironing our 6½-inch blocks, finishing the quilt, and more. From course unit to course unit we will increase in the different techniques, such as appliqué, sewing on paper (Foundation Paper Piecing), sewing over paper (English Paper Piecing), etc. After booking the course you will receive a material list and the link for zoom access.

About Mona Hein
I have been sewing and quilting for over 20 years, live on the outskirts of Vienna, lead the patchwork group Vienna and am also in the Austrian guild as representative for Vienna responsible and deputy chairwoman in the association. Professionally I worked 35 years as an executive in a bank, since 2020 I dedicate myself exclusively to patchwork, quilting and longarm quilting.
I am happy to introduce you to patchwork with the most important techniques!
