The new Super Universal needle from Schmetz now also offers industry standards for household needles! Anyone who uses spray adhesive, works with self-adhesive embroidery backing or self-adhesive Velcro knows the unsightly adhesive residue on the needle. Skipped stitches and broken sewing threads caused by this are annoying but can now be avoided thanks to smooth-gliding non-stick coating. This effect is further enhanced by an extra large eye, which is why the needle is particularly suitable for embroidery work. The eye corresponds to that of a 2 NM thicker needle. The eye of a 70s Super Universal needle is similar to that of a normal 90s needle. The shaft is an extra strong enforced so that even thick fabrics such as jeans do not pose a challenge. For light-colored fabrics, Schmetz recommends “sewing the needle in” about 50 cm into a scrap of fabric until no more dark puncture holes can be seen.
