A clapper is used to create particularly flat seams in patchwork. The oak wood with the practical recessed grips on both sides absorbs the heat and/or steam from the previously ironed seams. A clapper or in German Schneiderklöppel comes from the clothing tailoring and has been tried and tested for over 100 years.
